Funky Giraffe Bibs

I was so thrilled to get the opportunity to review these cute bibs from Funky Giraffe Bibs and after agonizing over which ones to choose, I received the three that I finally narrowed it down to in the mail the other day. Little Ella has been drooling quite a bit (we found the first tooth yesterday, yay!) and she also seems to gulp up half the milk I feed her, so I always have to have something ready to catch her sweet baby throw-ups. Muslins do the job quite well, but they don't score very high on neither cuteness nor cool factor. So I've been looking for some cute bibs and decided to try these ones out, basically because of their cool design. I was very happy to find that they are really functional as well, they are double layered with the outer layer slightly larger than the inner so that there is a bit of air between the layers to prevent the "leakage" from going through. The inner layer is made of a soft fleece material to keep baby warm and dry. This mummy highly recommends! Here's 4 month Ella modeling her new bibs.

Why I had such a hard time choosing:

How cool are they?! Check out their website - I'm already seeing more bibs that I have to have! Imagine that, bibs!

P.S. If you're in Iceland, you can buy them here.

September 1st

Soon it will be Christmas! I want mine to look like this.

Idea for my entrance hall

We really need some storage space and I could actually do this in our entrance hall. In fact, we could get two of these little cupboards as we have one long and narrow (well not so long... just extremely narrow) storage room off our entrance hall, and by knocking down a small drywall and building a partition in the middle of the room we could do this, and get the kids winter clothes, our tools and cleaning supplies and all those little things that have no place... well, into place. This one goes to the inspiration folder. Found here.

Preparing for autumn

Oh I love summer! But when the shops fill with burnt autumn colours, luxurious knits, chunky boots and rich fabrics I get all giddy. Definitely my favorite time of the fashion year. Here is what I've got myself so far (oh, and it's the first time I shop for myself in 3 years... no kidding!)

And these incredibly comfortable wedges from this little shop.

I can't wait to wear them all together :)

Robyn's blog spot

I came across this image on pinterest. It belongs to Robyn of Whimages. Although the style isn't what I'd personally go for it is super cosy and with a bit of a modern twist, this would be my perfect spot to blog. I just have to do a bit of tidying and then I'll show you mine. Will you show me yours?

Bad news

Today my heart goes out to the people of Norway and the friends and family of Amy Winehouse.

Oh Marc!

Why do you do this to me? You know I can't afford your gorgeous shoes, and yet you somehow always make them call out my name! Why, why?

A new sofa!

Our old sofa was turning into a health hazard, so I couldn't believe my luck when I found a second hand yellow kramfors sofa online for a very reasonable price. Love the yellow, and it was just in time for easter! The photo is not from our living room though, it's from Jan's light and bright living room. The colours in his home are similar to ours, I just haven't had the chance to photograph ours properly... I'll have to do a house tour soon!

A few new blogs for the list

I came across a few new blogs over easter:

First and foremost, le cose belle, by my bestest friend Hrafnhildur (or Hilda for those who don't want to get their tongue into knots).
