I came across this on Emma's blog, in her Stockholm guide. It's the counter in a kids' clothing store. Would be ideal in, lets say, a glassware store, so you could safely rummage through your bag for your wallet, without worrying about your child breaking half the items in the store!

A cute story
My next door neighbours are an older couple from Sri Lanka. They have a granddaughter my son's age and whenever she comes to visit them, they play together outside our house. Last summer, they (the granddaughter and my son) decided to be very helpful and picked all the rhubarbs from our garden. I spent the weekend making jam and as a thank you I walked over to my neighbours and gave them a jar to give to the little girl. The grandmother was so happy with this, that in a few moments, she came over to my house with a bag of home-made Sri Lankan sweets and this beautiful dress that she had just brought back with her from home. I was so thrilled!

Winter wardrobe
Whenever the seasons change, I'm always too late to get out the appropriate kit. In the freezing cold I'll be out there with no mittens or a hat, and in the beautiful spring sun, I'll still be wearing my winter coat. To add on to that, I've found that having two children (and a third one on the way), I'm very lucky to get out of the house with just the bare necessities (such as phone, wallet, keys) when trying to get everyone ready for their daycare and myself for work. And with only a fraction of my wardrobe actually fitting me at the moment, all I can do is admire the stylish girls around the fashion blogs and look forward to a less hectic life, sometime in the far away future!

Well then...
... I guess I'm back! I feel like I owe you an explanation. The reason for my absence is just plain old tiredness from working full time, being a mother of two energetic little boys, and, oh yes, this little gal:
We're so excited!

I'm still here...
... don't worry ;)
I'm just hibernating, taking a bit of a break and concentrating on work, private projects, family and myself. I'll be back :)

Feeling sorry...
...for the lack of posting
...for myself
I've been coughing my guts out for the last four weeks and I finally gave in and got an appointment at the doctor's. Been feeling soooo tired, sick, sweaty, sticky, ugly, awful... I've been going to sleep at the same time as my little boys, between 8 and 9 pm and sleeping through till 7 in the morning, still feeling I want some more sleep. Now I dream of the perfect bedroom, and guess what! Design*Sponge has a best of bedrooms roundup! Here's my favorite:

As a sign of my sickness, I would even let hubby roll the TV in there for me... oh no, did I just say that?!
PS I don't even know what day it is, so the weekly schedule is out the window for the time being.

Fridays are casual
Here's a little music video with Blonde Redhead. I'm only just getting into them now, but they've been around for a few years. This song is called Here Sometimes.
Bloggers and their babies (Thursdays it's family time!)
I just love looking at pictures of people with their babies. You can always sense the joy, pride, love and vulnerability they're feeling. Some of my favorite bloggers have recently had babies, and here are a few pictures of them.
James and Gemma of Bleubird
Viv and Robert of ish and chi
Joanna and Toby of A Cup of Jo
And here's one of me and little Sam.
Wednesdays for fashion
I know, I know, it's not wednesday today, but according to my new plan, wednesdays are for fashion and I haven't blogged since tuesday. So here goes. A dream outfit for fall:
Ziggy suede biker jacket from Lot78 at Net-a-Porter.com
Top from H&M, tucked into (of course)...
Lindex trousers (I'm looking for something a bit more structured though and tighter on the lower leg, but no luck yet)
And finally, I'm waiting for my local Bianco shop to get these in.
Or these.

Tuesdays are for Architecture
In the name of organisation, I've assigned each day of the week with a theme for my blog. So Tuesdays are for architecture. Today I'm inspired by buildings that mimic, or even hide in, the natural landscape. Living in a city you get so used to the stark contrast between inside and out, to get inside a building involves pushing open a door and stepping inside. What about buildings that gradually invite us in, lure us even, like the mouth of a cave or a canyon opening into a valley of wonders? Why does the shift between the building and (urban) landscape have to be so sudden, a pavement hit by a vertical wall? Look at these wonderful buildings, and be inspired!

Decorative laundry?
Who would have thought?! I could actually imagine using my laundry as decoration! I wonder if that's good Feng Shui...
The Polyp laundry basket by Helene Steiner be fixed on the wall and you just put your laundry through the hole in the front. When you can't stuff more in it, it's time to do some laundry, as each basket can only contain one load of wash!

Ígló kids
Ígló is an Icelandic kids' clothing label and their designs are just adorable!
Ígló is the brainchild of Lovísa Ólafsdóttir and Helga Ólafsdóttir, two friends who happen to share a last name. Both having children of their own, they founded the company, inspired by their own views on what children clothing should entail – and what the children themselves would pick out from their closets. Ígló kids go out in blue, pink, red, purple and yellow clothes, sometimes just one color but often all mixedÍgló kids love to play outsideÍgló kids do not ask if their clothes match or not - they know they always look goodÍgló kids are our hero's!
And you can even shop here!
Don't you think they're adorable?
From their website:
