Happy easter!

Easter weekend is upon us. I haven't decorated much, I've just put the little easter chicks my sons made in kindergarten in our entrance hall window to welcome guests. I have an excuse, it's my baby's due date today and I must admit to being a bit tired. I wish I had the patience and energy to do something like this, aren't they gorgeous?!

Grandma's knitting

I just received the bestest package from my grandmother, she knitted an outfit for our baby girl to come home from hospital in (the pink one), another whole outfit, a blanket, more mittens and another pair of socks! Here are the two outfits. She's the best!!!

If you haven't seen the BBC series Outnumbered, I suggest you get hold of it asap. It's funny because it's so true, this is life with kids!

The wish list

So, my due date is in less than two weeks and I finally stopped working. When the boys go back to school on monday I'll start making the final preparations, which will mostly be finding the old baby clothes, washing them and stashing in the drawers. I'll also be packing my hospital bag and I'll be ready. Since this is our third baby we have almost everything we need so we won't be buying much. There are just a few things though, that I always wanted but never got round to buying. For instance a sheepskin, for floorplay, sleeping and for the pram and the buggy (stroller).

A Moby Wrap. I have other slings but they're more suitable after a few months, and this one has always been on the wish list.

The silk bonnet from Ruskovilla. We had one for our little Sam, but it got lost somewhere and we will most definitely be getting it again. It allows the skin to breath yet prevents thermal loss.  Untreated silk contains remnants of sericin which has a beneficial affect on allergic skin, soothing any sensitive or irritated areas.
A peak on the silk cap protects the baby's crown area, while the snug fit protects sensitive ears from surrounding noise. The cap's delicate surface massages the baby's head in a manner similar to the mother's womb during pregnancy. This massage has both a stimulating and pacifying affect on the baby. Available for instance from mjölk.

That's it, and I'll be ready :)

Be still my heart!

I couldn't pick just a couple of pics, so here you go, close-ups from the autumn/winter 2011-12 ready to wear show. You may notice I have a thing for shoes and woolly tights.

Little Baby Company

I was so lucky to win a giveaway recently at A Cup of Jo, from the Little Baby Company. I just have a big problem choosing what to get, but I think I've narrowed it down to these two items:

And a cute little owl LED light

But then they got all this new stuff in, so now I'm undecided again!

Geysir shop

Most of us have started planning our summer wardrobes, but as I sit here and listen to the raging snowstorm outside my window, I dream of all the wonderful things available at the Geysir shop in Reykjavík. Things like:

Knee high wool socks...

A wool cape and a white horse (not available at the shop though - the horse that is)...

The wonderful and witty cool and clever designs of Vík Prjónsdóttir...

A Vík Prjónsdóttir blanket to curl up under (I'll take that whole bedroom)...

A cozy Farmer's Market knit...

The classic Hunter rubber boots...

And this lovely piece of clothing.

Cute baby bed

I like this cot bumper for its graphic design, the lack of fluffy teddy bear characters, and because it's white on the side facing the baby and therefore doesn't overstimulate an infant that is supposed to be sleeping.

Another DIY lamp

This one, I might consider for the bedroom, which desperately needs a makeover before our little girl arrives.

Maps in the kids' room

I love vintage maps and what better place to hang them than in your kids' room? So beautiful and educational.

Textures

Some wonderful textures...

P.S. Isn't this a great idea to add more functionality to an old coffee table?

Something I might make

I've been looking for a lamp for the living room for the longest time, something cheap and gorgeous of course, and this might just be it!

And since I've started...

... why not keep going? With honeysuckle being Pantone's colour of 2011, it's a good year for all things girly.

How cute are these chairs? Excitedly awaiting photos of lovely pink interiors. I must admit, it doesn't seem to be a very easy colour like last year's turquoise and I for one am not the biggest fan... but we'll see, maybe I'll be converted.

Thinking pink

I'm expecting a girl and all of a sudden I'm seeing pink everywhere!

Found in Milk magazine.

Was not expecting this!

Loving pink, and a dark floor! I was never the girly girl, and I spend way too much energy hating my dark wooden floors! It's never too late to love <3
